Volunteering: Everything You Need to Know:
What will I do?
As an awesome volunteer, you will help distribute food and clothing to approximately 150 homeless and low-income people in Hollywood. Up to 150 people will thank you, and it will be an experience you will never forget.
You will also learn about our larger "Work for Food program". Through this program, homeless people earn their way off the streets with full-time jobs, housing, life-skills and the confidence needed to make their accomplishments long-lasting.
After distributing food, you will participate in our heartwarming awards ceremony. Here, you will award gift-cards to the top homeless workers in the Work for Food program. You will also listen to their stories and learn how they help the community through Random Acts of Kindness.
When and Where:
Every Sunday from 3:15 - 5:00pm
Volunteering takes place in the back parking lot of the LGBT Center in Hollywood (1625 N. Schrader Blvd., Hollywood, CA 90028).
There's free parking for you too! Just drive through the South gate of the LGBT Center.
How will my $25 donation help?
Volunteer positions require a $25 donation per person.
Your generous gift of $25 will go towards the following:
- The cost of food you will help distribute that day.
- Food gift cards and prizes you will give to the top workers in our Work for Food program.
Got kids? Bring them out to the serving!
Kids ages 6 and up are welcome.
Pass on your values of giving back to your children, with a quick, fun volunteer experience you can share together.
We are in need of used clothing.
Feel free to bring a few bags of gently used clothing for our homeless neighbors who attend the serving.
Please limit your clothing donation to 1-2 bags because we do not have room to store extra clothing after the serving.
